2017 Annual Excellence In Leadership Awards

And Mentoring Program Graduation

Join us on Tuesday, December 12th, 2017. We will celebrate our 2017 Excellence in Leadership Awards And Mentoring Program Graduation. This event will recognize HR professionals in the Greater New York area, who have made substantial contributions in their field, industry and community. We will also recognize the participants of our 2017 Mentoring Program.

The program highlights will include our Trailblazer Award, which is given to an outstanding human resources professional who has shown exceptional leadership, exemplary character and a commitment to excellence.

The Community Service Award is given to someone who has shown a passion and commitment to service not only to the business sector but also dedication to the community at large.

Robert Childs

Robert Childs

The recipient of our 2017 Trailblazer Award is Robert Childs, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at American Express. At the beginning of 2013, Robert was named head of the newly formed Global Strategic Capabilities and Servicing (GSCS) group. GSCS is focused on redesigning HR services to improve the employee experience and drive greater efficiency through process standardization. Robert and his team are also developing the infrastructure and capabilities to deliver data and insights that enable HR to add value and influence AXP growth.

Philip Berry

Philip A. Berry

The recipient of our 2017 Community Service Award is Philip A. Berry. Philip serves as the chief human resources officer at the Clinton Foundation. Philip is responsible for strategies to attract, develop, and retain talent. Prior to his current role, he was the President of Philip Berry Associates LLC, a management consulting firm which focuses on executive coaching, global talent development, and organizational effectiveness.

Currently, Philip serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the City University of New York (CUNY) where he is responsible for the 24 public colleges within New York City. Philip is also the Acting Chair of the CUNY Construction Fund
