NAAAHR-GNY Mentoring Program

The Greater New York Chapter of NAAAHR, in 2011, created a Mentoring Program designed to assist junior level HR professionals in their development and knowledge of the Human Resources field.  The program was a great success and the Chapter has continued this initiative on an annual basis. It is our firm belief the Human Resources Community will continue to evolve and grow by having Professionals who have experienced success and are willing to share their knowledge and skills with those seeking similar measurement of success within the human resources arena.

This program will run for a six month period and all participants must agree to fulfill their commitment to the program.  We understand there may be situations where that commitment becomes unsustainable, however we ask that you notify when such situation arises.

Our Program Goals

  • To develop and enhance the core knowledge of future HR leaders by offering professional guidance on issues within the Human Resources arena.

Testimonials
  • It was an honor to participate in NAAAHR – GNY’s inaugural mentoring program.  I had a fantastic mentee who was engaged and thoughtful and because of her enthusiasm, we were able to forge what I hope will be a long lasting relationship that benefits us both.  I also have to give credit to NAAAHR-GNY’s administration of the program.  It was well organized with just right amount of outreach to the participants. I’d be delighted to participate in the program again.
    Desiree, Mentor

  • Having the opportunity to be both a mentor and mentee was tremendous!  Being able to coach and work with an incredibly bright individual early in her HR career was exciting and educational for me as well.  Having access to my mentor was truly a gift and although the official mentor/ mentee relationship is “over”, I am still in regular contact with these two amazing women.  NAAAHR-GNY has created an opportunity that should not be passed up. Deneen, Mentor & Mentee

  • The NAAAHR Mentoring Program matched me with a mentor who was always willing and able to provide me with relevant feedback to assist with my personal growth. All of our interactions were meaningful, in that, I left each meeting having learned something that helped me in my role as a junior generalist.
